Suvarnabhumi airport, Bangkok (BKK)
Suvarnabhumi - its pronounced suwannapoom - is Bangkok new International Airport (IATA airport code BKK).
The new Bangkok's airport is located in Ratcha Thewa District, Samut Prakan Province and it cover a surface area of approximately 8,000 acres (approx. 324km²).Bangkok's downtown can be easily reached in twenty minutes by the new Highway N.7 (Bangkok-Chon Buri Motorway).SUVARNABHUMI AIRPORT MAP LOCATION
Airport's name was chosen by H.M. the King and it means "The Golden Land", traditional name of Indochina Peninsula.
The airport was officially open on 15th September 2006.

In this initial phase Suvarnabhumi airport is capable of handling 45 million passengers and 3 million tons. per year. Between the Terminal Building and Airport Hotel there are two five-storey car park building with a combinated capacity of 5,000 cars.
The airport has two parallel runways (60 meter wide, 4,000 and 3,700 mt. long) and it has a total of 120 parking bays (5 of these are capable to accommodating the Airbus A380). Long-term plans for four runways flanking two main terminals and two satellite buildings with a combinated capacity up to 100 million passengers and 6,6 tons. of cargo per year.
